1-Acetyl-1H-1,2,3-triazolo[4,5-b]pyridine (ATP) is a reagent that is used to synthesize ester derivatives from carboxylic acid esters. ATP reacts with tetramethylsilane and n-hydroxymaleimide in the presence of 1-hydroxybenzotriazole to produce an intermediate ester. The final product is obtained by reacting the intermediate with silicon oxide or aluminum oxide in the presence of a base such as sodium hydroxide. This reaction produces an acetylated derivative of the carboxylic acid which can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
