Description:

1-Acetyl-1H-1,2,3-triazolo[4,5-b]pyridine (ATP) is a reagent that is used to synthesize ester derivatives from carboxylic acid esters. ATP reacts with tetramethylsilane and n-hydroxymaleimide in the presence of 1-hydroxybenzotriazole to produce an intermediate ester. The final product is obtained by reacting the intermediate with silicon oxide or aluminum oxide in the presence of a base such as sodium hydroxide. This reaction produces an acetylated derivative of the carboxylic acid which can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate.
The crystallizing agent sucrose can be added to this reaction to increase solubility and allow for easier separation of products. The reagents required are all nonreactive and neutral compounds including aluminum oxide, aluminum, n-hydroxysuccinimide, and
