Product Information
2-Acetamido-4-bromophenol (2ABP) is an industrial chemical that can be synthesized by reacting ethanol and 2-aminophenol in a catalytic hydrogenation process. The reaction proceeds without the use of a catalyst, but the use of an acid as a catalyst increases its yield. 2ABP has also been used in the synthesis of pranlukast, which is used to treat asthma. This compound is used in the synthesis of many other drugs, including carbapenems, macrolides, and penicillinase-resistant antibiotics.
