2-Chloro-3-nitroquinolin-4-amine is a factor receptor inhibitor that has been shown to stop the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting the epidermal growth factor pathway. This drug has been synthesized and used in cancer therapy to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells. 2-Chloro-3-nitroquinolin-4-amine inhibits topoisomerases and mitochondrial membrane potential, which are required for tumor cell proliferation. It also inhibits G1 phase, which is responsible for DNA synthesis and cell division. This drug can be used as an anticancer agent in combination with other drugs to block cell cycle progression. 2CQNA has been shown to inhibit the growth of lung, breast, prostate, and melanoma cancer cells in vitro with IC50 values of 3 μM, 1 μM, 0.5 μM, and 0.6 μM respectively.
