Product Information
4-Chloroquinoline-8-carbonitrile is a medicinal arylpiperazine compound that is used to treat bladder disorders. It has been shown to have affinity for the α1-adrenoceptor and to inhibit the binding of α1-adrenoceptor antagonists, such as phenoxybenzamine, in human tissues.
4-Chloroquinoline-8-carbonitrile also has an affinity for the carboxamide binding site on the α1A adrenoreceptors, which is located on the outer surface of bladder cells. The affinity of this compound for these sites can be measured using pa2 values. This compound has been shown to inhibit the binding of norepinephrine at these sites and thus may be able to reduce bladder contractions in patients with urinary urgency or incontinence.
