2-Chloro-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-5,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydrocycloocta[b]pyridine
Description:

2-Chloro-4-(4-fluorophenyl)-5,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydrocycloocta[b]pyridine (2CFP) is a pyridine derivative that acts as a 5HT2C receptor modulator. 2CFP has been shown to act as a selective 5HT2C receptor antagonist. This drug is insoluble in water and organic solvents. It can be dissolved in ethanol with the help of an acid such as hydrochloric acid. The compound was first prepared by recrystallizing from ethanol at -40°C and then decolorizing with chloroform. 2CFP has been used in industrial applications for its ability to remove color from cyclooctane.
