Product Information
1-(Naphthalen-1-ylmethyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-6,7-diol hydrobromide (NAP) is a prodrug that is activated by proteolytic enzymes to form the active compound NAP. It has been shown to inhibit blood clotting and improve blood flow in animal models of thrombotic diseases. NAP also inhibits platelet aggregation and reduces the expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1). This drug has hypotensive effects and can be used for treatment of septicemia, hemorrhage, or acute renal failure.
