Description:
2-Amino-1,6-dimethylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine is a compound that can be synthesized by cross-coupling reactions between a methyl group and an aryl group. The product of the reaction is a palladium complex catalyzed by acid. This product can then undergo further reactions to form other products. 2-Amino-1,6-dimethylimidazo[4,5-b]pyridine has been shown to be mutagenic in calf thymus DNA and is capable of inducing mutations in bacterial DNA.
