Product Information

Name:
GPRP acetate
Description:

GPRP acetate is a glycoprotein that has been shown to be involved in blood clot formation. GPRP acetate binds to the surface of platelets and initiates the process of fibrinogen polymerization and dextran sulfate cross-linking, which leads to the formation of a coagulation plug. Fibrinogen polymerization results in the development of a three-dimensional matrix that traps thrombin, leading to the conversion of fibrinogen into fibrin. This binding is dependent on peptide sequences located on the surface of GPRP acetate. X-ray crystal structures have shown that GPRP acetate forms an alpha helix with bound form

GPRP acetate has been used for the treatment of bowel disease, as it has been shown to reduce diarrhea and constipation.
