It has been shown to be useful for light resistance and amines. [[(3,4,5-Trimethyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)(3,4,5-trimethyl-2H-pyrrol-2 -ylidene)methyl]carbonitrile](difluoroborane) is also used as a fluorescent probe in immunostaining experiments. It binds to the antigen during immunostaining and emits fluorescence when excited with a light source.
