Product Information
Prenylpiperitol is a natural product that is found in marine sponges. It has been shown to have antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, with an inhibitory dose of 0.1 μg/mL. Prenylpiperitol inhibits the growth of Cladosporium cucumerinum and T. rubrum at 0.1 μg/mL, but does not show any effect on growth of Skincare subtilis or marine bacteria such as Erythrobacter litoralis and Enterobacter aerogenes. Prenylpiperitol also exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis at concentrations higher than 10 μg/mL.
