Product Information
(2R)-2-(Methoxymethyl)morpholine is a synthetic process that converts the virus to an analog with anti-HIV activity. The cycle begins with the conversion of 2,6-diaminopurine to 2,6-diaminohexane, which is then reacted with methoxyacetic acid to form (2R)-2-(Methoxymethyl)morpholine. This synthetic process utilizes a hydroxyl group in order to produce an anti-HIV agent. It has been shown that (2R)-2-(Methoxymethyl)morpholine inhibits HIV replication in human cells and reduces levels of viral RNA in infected cell cultures.
