3-Pyridin-4-yl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidine is a chiral molecule with two enantiomers. The axial and planar conformation of the molecule allows for hydrogen bonding interactions between the hydroxy group and the triazole ring. The anisotropic arrangement of these groups in space leads to different crystal structures depending on the orientation of the molecule. 3-Pyridin-4-yl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidine has been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
