(S)-N-(1-(4-Bromophenyl)ethyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide is a linker that has been used in fluorescent and luminescent conjugates. It has also been used as a mediator for lanthanide complexes. (S)-N-(1-(4-Bromophenyl)ethyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide can be hydrolyzed to form paraformaldehyde and the trifluoroacetic acid. This compound is divalent and reacts with gadolinium and dysprosium to form cyclic hydrocarbons. The hydrocarbon group of (S)-N-(1-(4-Bromophenyl)ethyl)-2,2,2-trifluoroacetamide is cyclic and reactive.
