Product Information
- Glycine, N-(carboxymethyl)-, disodium salt, hydrate
Sodium iminodiacetate dibasic hydrate is an inorganic salt that is used to treat calcium carbonate deficiency and to reduce the severity of calcium oxalate kidney stones. It is also used as a sequestrant, or an agent that binds to a metal ion and prevents it from reacting with other substances. Sodium iminodiacetate dibasic hydrate has been shown to have antihypertensive activity by acting as an antagonist on angiotensin II receptors and blocking the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II. This drug also inhibits red blood cell aggregation and platelet aggregation, which may be due to its ability to bind carboxylate groups on cells.
