Product Information
2-(3-Hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)acetonitrile is a potent aminoanthraquinone compound that was originally synthesized in the 1950s and found to have significant activity against ovarian cancer cells. It has been shown to be a topoisomerase II inhibitor and to inhibit cancer cell proliferation. The drug accumulates in cancer cells, which may be due to its nonsymmetrical structure. 2-(3-Hydroxypiperidin-1-yl)acetonitrile is structurally related to cisplatin, but does not seem to induce apoptosis in wild-type cells.
