(R)-2-Methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-4,8-diol hydrochloride hydrate (MTDH) is a drug that has been used in clinical trials for the treatment of heart failure. It is an inhibitor of glycerin dehydrogenase (GDH), and it is thought to work by increasing the body's production of hydrogen ions. MTDH has also been shown to have dose-dependent effects on ventricular mass index and phenylephrine levels in women. MTDH was not found to have any effect on maternal blood pressure or receptor activity in women.
