Product Information

Name:
2-((3-Hydroxyadamantan-1-yl)amino)acetic acid
Description:

2-((3-Hydroxyadamantan-1-yl)amino)acetic acid is a quinoline that is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and as a chiral catalyst. It has been shown to be an effective chiral catalyst for reactions involving esters. This compound can be prepared from commercially available starting materials by a Leuckart-Wallach reaction with benzoic acid. 2-(3-hydroxyadamantan-1-yl)aminoacetic acid is chemically stable, nonvolatile, and does not react with water or most common acids. It can also be obtained by resolution of racemic compounds using optical rotation or chiral chromatography. The optimised catalytic method yields high product purity with an improved yield over other methods.
