The 1,2-diaminopyrimidine 3-(quinoxalin-2-yl)aniline (DQA) is a molecule with two nitrogen atoms and two oxygen atoms. It is a colorless solid that can be prepared by the reaction of 2-aminoquinoxaline with formaldehyde and hydrochloric acid or by the oxidation of 2,4-diaminotoluene. DQA is used in Buchwald reactions and Hartwig reactions to produce other chemical structures. The 1,2-diaminopyrimidine structure has been shown to yield compounds that are useful for making pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and herbicides.
