Product Information
4E2RCat is a modified version of the 4E2R virus, which is a member of the polyomavirus family. The virus has been modified to express an autophagy-inducing protein called Atg8. The insertion of the protein into the viral genome enhances its ability to induce autophagy and thus, could have therapeutic potential for cancer and other diseases. This virus also has the potential to be used as a delivery system for modifying proteins in cells or animals. It can be modified with new genes that are inserted into the viral genome and then transferred to target cells by infecting them with the modified virus. These modifications allow researchers to study how proteins interact with each other in living cells and animals.
