Description:
Ramipril-d5 is a prodrug of ramipril, which is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor. Ramipril-d5 has been shown to be bioequivalent to the reference drug, ramipril, in Indian subjects with mild hypertension. Ramipril-d5 is administered orally and has a long duration of action that may be due to its slow conversion to the active metabolite ramipril. Ramipril-d5 has also been shown to have reproducible pharmacokinetics in human volunteers with no significant matrix effects. The reaction monitoring method was used to characterize the metabolism of ramipril-d5 in humans.
