mTOR inhibitor-3 is a potent, selective, and reversible inhibitor of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR). It inhibits the activity of mTOR by binding to a specific site on the protein and blocking its ability to phosphorylate downstream proteins. The drug was effective in inhibiting the growth of t-cell lymphomas and solid tumours in animals. It has minimal toxicity due to its reversible inhibition of mTOR. This drug should be used with caution in patients with autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis or lupus erythematosus because it can increase the risk for these diseases.
