Product Information
Ammonium carbonate carbamate is a white crystalline powder with a strong ammoniacal odor. It is used mainly as an acidity regulator in the food industry, but it has also been shown to have anticarcinogenic properties. Ammonium carbonate carbamate binds to DNA and blocks the expression of genes that are involved in the development of cancer cells. This compound has been shown to interact with polymorphisms in certain genes, such as glutathione S-transferases and cytochrome P450 enzymes, which may explain why some people are more susceptible to developing cancer than others.
