(11aS)-10,11,12,13-Tetrahydro-5-hydroxy-5-oxide-diindenodioxaphosphocin is an activated synthetic molecule. It is a protonated molecule with a high reaction rate that is catalyzed by a copper complex. It reacts in the presence of imine and diazo compounds to form a stereogenic vinyldiazoacetate intermediate. This intermediate reacts with another vinyldiazoacetate to form an asymmetric product with two different chiral centers.
