Terbumeton is a triazine herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase, which is required for fatty acid synthesis. Terbumeton has shown high resistance to many herbicides and can be used as an analytical reagent in analytical chemistry. It is also used to study the interactions of hormones, such as glucocorticoids, with glucocorticoid receptors. Terbumeton binds to these receptors and blocks their function.
