Product Information
- 2-Allyl-3-bromothiophene
- Thiophene, 3-Bromo-2-(2-Propen-1-Yl)-
3-(3-Bromo-2-thienyl)-1-propene is a heterocyclic compound that is produced by the catalyzed reaction of 3-bromo-2-thiophene with propene. It has linear and bicyclic structures, with the linear form being more stable. 3-(3-Bromo-2-thienyl)-1-propene can be used in Buchwald-Hartwig amination reactions to produce a variety of substituted pyridines. The regioselective nature of this reaction allows for the synthesis of many different types of pyridines with high regioselectivity. 3-(3-Bromo-2-thienyl)-1-propene also has high regioselectivity in its synthesis, which allows for the production of either bicyclic or tetrahydropyridine products depending on conditions.
