The compound also inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines by inhibiting protein kinase C (PKC) activation and by altering the activity of NF-κB. 10(14)-Cadinene-4,11-diol also reduces tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) levels in vitro and suppresses TNFα production in vivo.
