Palatinose monohydrate is a hydrogenated form of the natural disaccharide palatinose. It is often used as a solid catalyst in pharmaceutical preparations and has been shown to have a lower molecular weight than sucrose. Palatinose monohydrate may have beneficial effects on postprandial plasma glucose, protein data, and lipid metabolism.
