Product Information
The reactivity of 2,6-difluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)pyridine (2,6-DFTPP) is similar to that of a typical nucleophile. It reacts with chlorine atoms and chlorine to form the corresponding halogenated derivatives. The reaction occurs by attack at the carbon atom adjacent to the trihalogenomethyl group. This intermediate is then attacked by a nucleophile to give a substituted product. 2,6-DFTPP can also be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis reactions such as those involving halides and other reactive compounds.
2,6-DFTPP can react with nucleophiles to form adducts or with hydrogen sulfide or ammonia to form sulfones and amines respectively.
