6,7-Dehydro-17α-acetoxyprogesterone (DHA) is a synthetic steroid that has anti-estrogenic and anti-androgenic effects. It is used as an appetite stimulant in the treatment of anorexia and cachexia. DHA is also used to treat breast cancer in women and men with prostate cancer. The drug can be administered by injection or orally. DHA belongs to a class of drugs known as progestins, which are related to the female sex hormone progesterone.
