Product Information
Phosphinoferrocene is an anticancer drug that belongs to the class of coordination complexes. It is a palladium complex with a ferrocene-like structure. Phosphinoferrocene has shown strong anticancer activity against various types of cancer cells in vitro, including prostate, breast and lung cancer cells, as well as leukemia cells. This drug binds to two sites on the DNA backbone and induces strand cleavage. The cleavage products are then removed by base excision repair, leading to cell death. Phosphinoferrocene also inhibits the growth factor erythropoietin (EPO) and reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-6 in animal models of autoimmune diseases or inflammation.
