Product Information
Methyl 4-(bromomethyl)-2-hydroxybenzoate is a bromine-containing compound that is prepared by the reaction of glycol with phenylboronic acid in the presence of an amide and a spacer. This compound is used as a reagent for the synthesis of disulfide compounds, which are biologically active moieties. Methyl 4-(bromomethyl)-2-hydroxybenzoate has been shown to react with alkyl halides in the presence of copper (II) acetate to form complexes. In this process, methylene groups from methyl 4-(bromomethyl)-2-hydroxybenzoate are replaced by boronic groups from the alkyl halide.
