Product Information
SAR 7334 is a fatty acid that has shown to have cytotoxic effects on human cervical cancer cells (HeLa, SiHa) and hk-2 cells. SAR 7334 inhibits the activity of CACNA1C, a voltage-gated calcium channel, by binding intracellularly to its target site Trpc6. This prevents Ca2+ from entering the cells, which leads to cell death. SAR 7336 also inhibits cardiac enzyme activity and blocks voltage-gated Ca2+ channels in vivo. The natural compound can be synthesized by polycondensation of various dicarboxylic acids with glycerin or sorbitol in the presence of a catalyst. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method is used for detection of the inhibitor in vitro and in vivo.
