5-[2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl]-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene is a bioactive molecule that inhibits the formation of reactive oxygen species and may be useful in cancer therapy. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells by inducing mesenchymal transition (MT) in human lung cancer cells. 5-[2-(3,4-Dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl]-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene is found in the ethanol extract of dendrobium candidum and has significant antioxidant activity. This compound also inhibits tumor growth and metastasis in mice treated with a carcinogen. The pharmacological effect of 5-[2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)ethyl]-1,2,3-trimethoxybenzene may be due to its ability to inhibit the enzyme lysophosphatidic acid acetyles
