Description:
3,3'-Dibromo-4,4'-dimethoxybiphenyl is an ether derivative that can be synthesized by the oxidative coupling of a phenol and bromobenzene. The yield of this reaction can be as high as 95%. This reagent is also efficient in the synthesis of biaryl compounds. 3,3'-Dibromo-4,4'-dimethoxybiphenyl can be used as a hypervalent reagent to efficiently couple binaphthyl with biphenyl to produce biphenyl derivatives.
