GA 6983 is a chemical inhibitor that binds to the ATP binding site of protein kinases and inhibits the signal pathway. It has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of pluripotent cells, leading to neuronal death. GA 6983 also inhibits intracellular Ca2+ levels and enzyme activities in cancer tissues. This compound also blocks receptor activity, which leads to inhibition of energy metabolism and cytosolic Ca2+.
