2,5-Dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl 6-(2-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-hydrazinyl)nicotinate is a diagnostic agent that binds to the receptor in the pancreas and tissues. It has been used to diagnose cancer by detecting the uptake of 2,5-dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl 6-(2-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-hydrazinyl)nicotinate into malignant cells. 2,5-Dioxopyrrolidin-1-yl 6-(2-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-hydrazinyl)nicotinate can be conjugated with a radioactive isotope for use as a radioactive tracer for positron emission tomography (PET).
