N-(2-Chloro-4-methylpyridin-3-yl)-2-(cyclopropylamino)nicotinamide is a quinoline derivative that inhibits HIV replication by blocking the reverse transcriptase enzyme. It has also been shown to improve insulin sensitivity and reduce cholesterol levels in mice. N-(2-Chloro-4-methylpyridin-3-yl)-2-(cyclopropylamino)nicotinamide inhibits the inflammatory response in cells infected with HIV, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cyclic peptide phosphodiesterases. This drug has been shown to have herbicide resistance, as well as regulatory and congestive heart activities.
