Description:

5-methyl-4H,5H,6H,7H-[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-c]pyridine-2-carboxylic Acid is a pyridine carboxylic acid that is used as a precursor of the drug cyproterone acetate. It has been shown to be hydrolyzed by hydrolyzing agents such as acids or bases. It also reacts with cyanide ions and halides in acidic conditions to form the corresponding thiocyanate or halogenated product. 5-methyl-4H,5H,6H,7H-[1,3]thiazolo[5,4-c]pyridine-2-carboxylic Acid has been studied for its use in the synthesis of some antihypertensive drugs.
