Product Information

Name:
8-Oxo-benzylguanine
Description:

8-Oxo-guanine is a cytosolic metabolite that is generated from the metabolism of 8-oxo-7,8-dihydro-2'-deoxyguanosine. It is found in tumor tissue and human liver cells. The amount of 8-oxo-guanine in the cytosol of human liver cells has been shown to be increased during liver cell damage. The plasma concentrations of 8-oxo-guanine are elevated in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). This metabolite can also be detected in the plasma of patients with HCC or NASH at levels that are proportional to the severity of their disease. Lapatinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, has been shown to increase 8-oxo-guanine levels in humans and mice by inhibiting its enzymatic degradation by aldehyde oxidase
