5-(1,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-2H-tetrazole is a white crystalline powder with a melting point of 149°C. It is soluble in water and can be used as an intermediate in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals. 5-(1,5-Dimethyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-2H-tetrazole has been shown to inhibit acetylation and chloroacetylation, which are involved in the conversion of alcohols to aldehydes and ketones respectively. Chloroacetylation may also be inhibited by 5-(1,5-dimethyl 1H pyrrol 2 yl) 2 H tetrazole.
