Description:
3-(Cyclohexylmethoxy)-benzoic acid is an organic solvent that is used in the synthesis of herbicides. It has been shown to have herbicidal activity against various plants and it reacts with benzoic acid to form an amide in a reaction time of 30 minutes at refluxing temperature. This compound also reacts with pyrrolidino in the presence of a dehydrohalogenating agent to give an alkenyl. 3-(Cyclohexylmethoxy)-benzoic acid reacts with toluene at room temperature to give 1-cyclohexyl-3-methylbenzene.
