- 4-(Dimethoxymethyl)Benzyl Alcohol
4-(Hydroxymethyl)benzaldehyde dimethyl acetal (4HMB-DA) is a x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) active molecule. It reacts with methanol and can be used as a solvent in organic chemistry. 4HMB-DA has been shown to be an electrochemical oxidation (EO) substrate, which means it is oxidized by the electrode at the anode and reduced at the cathode. 4HMB-DA has been used in research on fluorescence and powder x-ray diffraction.
