Product Information
- Benzoic acid, 2,4-dibromo-6-fluoro-
2,4-Dibromo-6-fluorobenzoic acid is a fluorinated arene. It is prepared by the reaction of butyllithium with 2,4-dibromo-6-fluoroaniline in the presence of potassium tert-butoxide and chloro. The regioselectivity of this reaction can be controlled by using potassium tert-butoxide as a base. Substituents on the bromine atom can also be controlled by changing the base used. The reactivity of 2,4-dibromo-6-fluorobenzoic acid with lithium is much greater than its reactivity with sodium or potassium.
