Product Information
Phosmet is a chemical compound that is used as an antibiotic and antiviral agent. It is a toxic organophosphate insecticide with antifungal, antiparasitic, and antibacterial properties. Phosmet has been used in chemotherapy to treat leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The chemical inhibits the synthesis of DNA by binding to the enzyme topoisomerase II in prokaryotes and the enzyme DNA polymerase α in eukaryotes. This prevents replication of the DNA molecule during cell division.
