Description:

9,9-Dioctylfluorene-2,7-diboronic acid (9,9-DFB) is a monomer that belongs to the class of boronate esters. It has been studied by 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and FTIR spectroscopy. 9,9-DFB has been used in the Suzuki coupling reaction with other boronates as well as in cross-coupling reactions to synthesize new compounds. This monomer has shown photophysical properties such as fluorescence and can be used for polymer films. The neutral form of this compound is stable in air and water, which makes it a good candidate for encapsulation into polymers or plastics. 9,9-DFB can also be used for electrochemical data due to its fluorescence properties.
