Description

Leupeptin is a non-specific inhibitor of many proteases and proteinases, including chymotrypsin, trypsin, elastase, kallikrein, plasmin, urokinase, cathepsins B and L. It also inhibits the activation of lipoprotein lipase. Leupeptin has been shown to inhibit the activity of caspase-3 and caspase-6 in vitro. Leupeptin is used as a research tool for studying protein interactions and receptor activation.
