N-(3-hydroxytricyclo[3.3.1.1]dec-1-yl)glycyl-L-prolinamide is a metabolite that is formed when the drug product, ticagrelor, undergoes metabolism in the liver. Ticagrelor is a prodrug that requires conversion to its active form, which is N-(3-hydroxytricyclo[3.3.1.1]dec-1-yl)glycyl-L-prolinamide, before it can be used as a platelet inhibitor and antiplatelet agent for the prevention of thrombotic events such as heart attack and stroke.
