Product Information
Dexamethasone-d5 is a dexamethasone analogue that has been labeled with the radioactive isotope, d5-labelled deuterium. It is used for the diagnosis of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) in patients with suspected renal disease. Dexamethasone-d5 is injected into the subconjunctival space and after a predetermined period of time it is collected from the eye and analyzed by liquid scintillation counting. The GFR can be determined from the concentration of radioactivity in the sample relative to a standard curve. Dexamethasone-d5 has also been shown to be effective as an ophthalmic agent. It has been approved for use in ophthalmology in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.br>
