Product Information
5-Bromo-N-(4-methoxybenzyl)-3-nitropyridin-2-amine is a prodrug that is metabolized in the body to 5-bromo-N-(4-methoxybenzyl)pyridin-2(1H)-amine, its active form. This drug has been shown to be effective against viral infections, such as hepatitis and infections caused by viruses such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). 5BMPEA also has immunomodulating properties, which may be due to its ability to modulate toll-like receptors (TLRs), which are proteins on the surface of cells that detect pathogens and activate the immune system. The drug may also inhibit viral replication by inhibiting the synthesis of virus nucleic acids.
