Product Information
5-Chloro-4-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carbonitrile (5CMDO) is a diphosphine that can be used as a ligand in cross coupling reactions. It has been shown to undergo catalytic cross coupling with naphthylboronic acid to produce the desired product. The yields of this reaction are high and the use of 5CMDO makes it possible to synthesize analogues of pyrroline, which cannot be made using conventional methods. This compound has also been shown to have diffraction properties similar to those of thianthrene, which is useful for spectroscopy studies. The conformation of 5CMDO enables it to bind metal ions and form coordination complexes with them.
